VRHAM! FORWARD Residencies
What potential does virtual reality have for the performing arts?
VRHAM! Virtual Reality & Arts Festival
VRHAM! is the world's first festival exhibiting VR-artists and their artworks. Only a few years after its foundation, VRHAM! is already established as an important date in the international VR art scene. We embrace showcasing all kinds of immersive art forms in our annual festival and present the virtual works in innovative installations.
VRHAM! FORWARD RESIDENCIES
For the upcoming festival edition from 4 – 12 June 2021 we are looking for exciting artists from Europe who are working in the field of the performing arts experimenting with Virtual and Augmented Reality. Together with our cooperation partner Institut für theatrale Zukunftsforschung at Zimmertheater Tübingen we give two creative teams the opportunity to (further) develop an innovative performative project in the field of XR-Art.
What potential does virtual reality have for the performing arts? How can XR be integrated into performative formats? And how can these projects be experienced by means of virtual access points? The one-week residencies will take place between 1 – 16 May 2021 in Tübingen/Germany. A renowned international mentor will accompany the teams and a work status of the residencies will be showcased within the opening weekend of VRHAM! Festival. The teams (up to 4 persons) will each receive a production budget of 1.500,- € for the residency, furthermore travel expenses and accommodation will be covered.
Do you want to explore the possibilities of VR and AR for the performing arts? Submit your concept to our open call now!
The open call for the VRHAM! Forward Residencies runs March 3 - 31, 2021.
Supported by Fonds Darstellende Künste with funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media. In cooperation with Institut für theatrale Zukunftsforschung at Zimmertheater Tübingen.
